Porto Cervo

Discovering the Costa Smeralda

Porto Cervo

Porto Cervo is renowned all over the world for being the center of the Costa Smeralda. Porto Cervo is a coastal town in the municipality of Arzachena.
The town was born in the sixties of the twentieth century from an intuition of Prince Karim Aga Khan IV who, after a visit to the area during which he was fascinated by the beauty of the coast, decided to buy the lands of this corner of Gallura , which belonged to local shepherds and owners, and, together with foreign and Italian architects, gave life to what is still considered an elite international tourism destination today.
The seaside village was built around a natural inlet that resembles a deer. The port, a fixed destination for those who visit the town, welcomes beautiful boats of all sizes from all over the world.

walk in porto cervo

It is advisable to leave the car at the old port or in the adjacent underground parking. The Maison Du Port deserves a stop, the first building in Porto Cervo which with its architecture represents the manifesto of the intentions of the Aga Khan. After a walk admiring the beautiful moored boats, continue to the famous wooden bridge that leads to the village beach and the Sottopiazza. From here through the stairs you reach the small square and the promenade behind it, a designer shopping gallery.
Just another staircase and you reach the square of the arches, from whose arcades you go up again towards the Piazza del Principe, true center of Porto Cervo.

porto rotondo

Porto Rotondo is one of the most famous hamlets in the area, frequented by well-known personalities and sailing enthusiasts, who choose it as a holiday resort. Due to the presence of wooden bridges it vaguely recalls Venice, the land from which the founders of the town, the Counts Donà dalle Rose, come. Thanks to its marina, inserted in a natural inlet, it attracts, like Porto Cervo, hundreds of luxury boats.

Baja Sardinia

Baja Sardinia is a fraction of Arzachena. This small village offers many opportunities for fun and is also a reference point for lovers of an “active” holiday. In fact, it is possible to practice many activities including: diving, windsurfing, trekking to discover the area or rent a boat to visit the surrounding stretch of coast.
